The course is laid out in the shape of a clover leaf and provides one of the best tests of golf in South Wales. Since the course was opened some of the worlds finest players have played it including Lyle; Barnes; Torrance; James; Darcy and Antonio Garrido. Highbullen Golf & Country Club's superb award winning golf course, set in richly wooded parkland, boasts breathtaking views towards the Devon landscapes of Dartmoor and Exmoor . It's easy-walking 5,570 yards, par-68 provides an excellent test of golf for the accomplished player without creating an unfair or unrewarding challenge for the novice. The course is designed to make you think about the club selection and shot execution of each golf stroke, rather than just a requirement to hit huge distances. The well-placed greens invite you to shoot for the pin and will hold a well-flighted ball, while the bunkering is visually impressive with mounding and contouring that blends in nicely with the natural surroundings. Water comes into play on quite a few holes, especially the par threes, and this adds to the challenge resulting in a wonderfully rewarding golfing experience. Winner Ian Wood. Top

23 BMW PGA Championship Wentworth Club, Virginia Water, Surrey, England - Miguel Angel Jimenez  completed the BMW set when he won the BMW PGA Championship with a birdie on the second hole of sudden-death to deny England’s Oliver Wilson his maiden title. Jiménez, who won both the 2004 BMW Asian Open and the 2004 BMW International Open, became the first player to claim the BMW treble when he tapped in for a winning birdie after tying Wilson on 11 under par 277 in the regulation 72 holes. It was the climax to a day of high drama on the famous West Course at Wentworth Club when the lead swung back and forth. But ultimately it was Jiménez, after a final round of four under par 68, who emerged with the trophy and his 15th European Tour title. It was his second victory of the season after his win in the UBS Hong Kong Open last November and the €750,000 first prize lifted him to the top of The European Tour Order of Merit with €1,342,675. He is also on course for Valhalla after moving top of The Ryder Cup Points List. Top

Chart Hills Golf Club: Hailed as one of the finest recently-built golf courses in England, Chart Hills is the British architectural debut of six times Major winner, Nick Faldo. Set on 200 acres of gently undulating hills, Chart Hills was officially opened for play in August 1993 and despite its relative youth in golfing terms, the course has already gained many accolades: being voted "Best new course in England" by Golf World, "Best inland course in the United Kingdom" by Following the Fairways, and being ranked number 5 in World of Golf's 2004 listings of top 200 courses in UK & Ireland. In addition, Chart Hills has been chosen to host the European Tour qualifying school venue and played host to the Ladies English Open from 2004 to 2006. Having left the 18th green at Chart Hills, your abiding memories are likely to include bunkers, water and greens. Offering over 130 bunkers, clever and abundant use of water hazards, and greens so fast that in the summer months, it is akin to putting on glass, Faldo has succeeded in creating a real parkland masterpiece. While the course on the whole, will certainly create a positive lasting impression, two of the signature features of the design include the long "Anaconda Bunker" on the 5th hole and the illusive island green on the short 17th hole. 35 BRAY GOLF CLUB - Supported by EH HOTELS - FINCA CORTESIN GOLF - LOS ARQUEROS - ISLANTILLA GOLF RESORT The foundation of Bray Golf Club at Ravenswell in July, 1897 coincided with a boom in golf development at the end of the 19th century, when a group of local gentlemen persuaded the Rt. Honourable Lord Plunkett to act as President and "spared no pains in arousing the inhabitants of Bray and surrounding district". Within two years the Club could boast of a membership of 325, which was a tremendous response for the new venture. The historic victory of Bray Golf Club in the inaugural Barton Cup competition in 1905 will always stand out as a major first in Irish golf. In the intervening years the Club has continued to enjoy success on the representative playing field while on the individual front the achievements of Walker Cup player, Keith Nolan, brought success to the Club. The membership of Bray Golf Club remained relatively small in modern terms during it’s long residency at Ravenswell Road. Since the Club moved to it’s new 18 hole course and clubhouse in 2003 the membership has flourished. The integration of the many new members has lead to an even stronger and more vibrant Club. With the influx of new members and the recent introduction of a Junior Development Plan, the future of Bray Golf Club looks very bright. The new 18 hole course is a magnificent USGA-standard parkland course, set in nearly 200 acres, between Bray Head and the Sugar Loaf Mountain with magnificent views of Killarney Bay and the Wicklow. “Spectacular in every aspect” is a phrase very appropriate to Bray Golf Club as stunning scenery frames the golf course and adds to the golfers enjoyment of the course. My Special Thanks to Alan Threadgold - Golf Club Manager for looking after us so well. The estate runs to 550 acres and is a mixture of parkland, farmland and woodland, with the River Lambourn running through it. The house on the estate was built between 1763 and 1772 in a style known as Strawberry Hill Gothic. In November 1991 work began on building a championship golf course and the conversion of the house into a hotel. The course architect was Dave Thomas, the Ryder Cup player, who has been responsible for several well known courses, including the Brabazon at the Belfry and Bowood in Wiltshire. 39 WESTON SUPER MARE - Supported by HOTEL ANTEQUERA GOLF, Our Course, which was officially opened on the 24th September 1892, is unusual. It is by the seaside, but is not truly a seaside links in the sense that dunes do not form part of the challenge but are rather the seaward boundary of the course. There are few trees on the course, more likely large shrubs. The overall impression is of wide horizons and masses of sky.  In summer the greens are fast and true, the fairways tight and the rough punishing.  In winter the course is rarely closed and is always played off real tees, just occasionally, depending on the weather, it may be necessary to use temporary greens but this is no more than a few days each year. Winners: Top

40 STUDLEY WOOD - Supported by LA FUENTE DEL SOL HOTEL As our name suggests, woods play an important part in the topography of the course. Designed by Simon Gidman, the par 73 course is set in 170 undulating acres of what was once an extensive woodland. History tells us that some 480 years ago, no less a person than Henry VIII used to enjoy his sporting afternoons here, hunting deer and wild boar. Two loops of nine holes play in opposite directions around a 30 acre wood, which lies at the centre of the course. Testing natural hazards come courtesy of 13 lakes, some impressive ground vegetation and a richness of fine, mature trees, most of which are specimen oaks. WINNERS: The Long Break: John And June Richards raising in excess of £1200 on its own. Two nights Three day break: David Witherspoon won by a special draw. Hole in One:  Golf prize only Adrian Smith.

41 THE PLAYERS CLUB - Supported by GUADALMINA HOTEL. This competition was held over 4 days with prizes every day for the winning team and a final prize for the winners over the 4 days event. This is a new 18 hole championship course situated just one mile from junction 18 of the M4. Opened in May 2002, one of the striking features is its maturity with woodland, lakes, trees and gorse coming into play. At over 7,600 yards, it's the longest course in the United Kingdom but from the front markers dips below 6,000 yards.  Six sets of tees will ensure that whatever your handicap, you will enjoy your round.

42 ST PIERRE GOLF CLUB  -  Supported by GUADALMINA HOTEL & MIJAS GOLF - The Old Course has played host to many golf tournaments, including the 1996 Solheim Cup and 14 European Tour Events, of which famous winners include Seve Ballesteros, Greg Norman and Ian Woosman. The stunning 18th hole par 3, drives over the 11 acre lake to an elevated green, has proved a great climax and indeed challenge to many a round The Mathern Course is our second Championship golf course on the estate, which played host to the PGA Welsh Masters, it offers a shorter but equally enjoyable challenge. The tree lined fairways and numerous water hazards throughout the course makes it a good test for any golfer. This course is also ideal for beginners and with our Marriott ‘Learn to Play Golf’ scheme available you could be playing golf in no time. Winners: Rhys Pidgeon and his friend Chris Gowell

61 VALE HOTEL & GOLF RESORT ProAm - SWALEC - supported by ELBA HOTEL Estepona  & LOS ARQUEROS  GOLF COURSE Michael McGeady continued his native Ireland’s extraordinary run of golfing success this season with his maiden Challenge Tour victory at the SWALEC Wales Challenge. On the back of Padraig Harrington’s recent Open Championship triumph – which took the number of Irish wins on The European Tour to six – McGeady swept to victory following a dramatic play-off with overnight leader Joel Sjoholm of Sweden. McGeady’s round of 68 at a sun kissed Vale Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort in Cardiff, Wales, saw him finish on four under par, which had looked like being good enough until Sjoholm birdied the 17th hole. That ensured a play-off, which McGeady promptly won at the second extra hole after Sjoholm’s par putt had drifted agonisingly past the cup. The winner’s cheque for €22,4000 saw the Irishman leap 125 places up the Challenge Tour Rankings to 34th place, and put him in striking distance of a place on next season’s European Tour. McGeady said: “This win’s massive for me – I’m absolutely delighted. Those four birdies in five holes on the back nine really got my round going, and from there on in I just tried to play steady golf because I knew four under would have a chance – and so it proved. “It’s a big relief for me, because my category didn’t guarantee me entry into every event. But now I’m fully exempt for the rest of the year, which means I can pick and choose the tournaments I play in. So it’s really set up my season. “I’m going to relax at home for a couple of days, before getting ready for the Challenge of Ireland next week. My Mum and Dad and fiancée will be there, so I’ll have some home support – and a bit of pressure! But I’m really looking forward to playing there, and I’m so excited about the rest of the season now.” Sjoholm’s runner-up spot earned him €22,400 and ensured the Swede a place at the Challenge of Ireland presented by Glasson next week, when he will be joined by home hope Gareth Maybin, who finished one shot further back in a tie for third with Sweden’s Björn Pettersson. A round of 67 – which equalled the course record – saw England’s James Morrison claim a share of fifth place on two under par, alongside compatriot Ian Garbutt and Scotland’s Greig Hutcheon. 64 British Ladies Open Sunningdale Golf Club Supported by Turismo Andaluz.   Over 60.000 people visit the event during the 4 days of golf. Super well organise, very valuable for our Promotional Marketing in the UK. South Korea’s Ji Yai Shin might not have been a household name when she arrived this week at Sunningdale but that is about to change now that she has emulated her more celebrated compatriot Se Ri Pak and won the Ricoh Women’s British Open title. It was a victory worth £160,000 to the diminutive 20 year-old and it also allows her take out membership of the US LPGA Tour. However, much more important than that it has also transformed her into a Major champion and means that for the rest of her life her countrymen will fete her wherever she goes. Shin started the final round one shot behind Japan’s Yuri Fudoh but a composed performance that belied her relative lack of experience saw her card a flawless six under par 66 for an 18 under par total of 270 which was enough for her to finish three shots ahead of Taiwan’s Ya-Ni Tseng and four shots in front of compatriot Eun Hee Lee and the Japanese Fudoh.
